Sony losing $18 on every PS3 unit they sold, according to WSJ reports

Though there is a good profit for PS3 in the market recorded by other companies, Wall Street Journal(WSJ) report reveals that Sony is yet to come out from its losses on every PS3 they sold out. The Sony’s Q3 results state that the company has lost 6 cents on every dollar of PS hardware sales and lost approximately up to $18 on a unit, confirms WSJ reports.
Adding to the above, iSuppli has estimated that the electronics giant has spent over $805 to release a PS3 into the market. They even predicted this long back in December stating that Sony has lost up to $37 on every PS3 device which is over double the current loss.
Let’s see how Sony would approach and the strategies they follow to bring back their PS3 unit sales into profits amid tough competition from its rivals.
