Intel and AMD to release hexacore CPUs, say motherboard manufacturers
If the spread rumors come out true, we would soon see half-a-dozen processors coming from the major companies Intel and AMD, according to the leaked sources from motherboard makers. The hexacore CPU to be unveiled include Intel’s Core i7-980X with an estimated price tag of $1,000+ per chip in March 2010, and three AMD Phenom II X6 1000T processors in May 2010. The three AMD processors are apparently the Phenom II X6 1075T, 1055T and 1035T with each CPU of 45nm, and will be preceded by new chipsets – the 890FX (RD890) and 890GX(RS880D) in April 2010. The company may announce a new quad-core chip, the Phenom II X4 960T, along with the hexacores. But, there is no comment from Silicon Company on the rumors.
