Amazon Q4 revenue up 42%, “millions” of Kindles sold

Amazon has released its fourth quarter financial data and registered a revenue rise up to 42% all around the holiday season. Almost over 2 million kindles have been sold out by the company in just two years and they have made the best out of their device to get most of the readers. Amazon now has a business worth more than $500 million in sales.
Bezos said, “Millions of people now own Kindles. And Kindle owners read, a lot. When we have both editions, we sell 6 Kindle books for every 10 physical books. This is year-to-date and includes only paid books — free Kindle books would make the number even higher. It’s been an exciting 27 months.” So we can assume then Amazon has sold at least two million of the eReaders in just over a period of two years.
“Amazon’s done a great job of pioneering this functionality with the Kindle,” CEO Steve Jobs said during the launch of the iPad. “We’re going to stand on their shoulders and go a little further.”
