TRENDnet announces the 150 Mbps TEW-655BR3G WiFi-N Mobile Wireless Router
TRENDnet an award winning global brand, popularly known for its wired and wireless networking products introduces a new TEW-655BR3G mobile router similar to a MiFi capable of data transfer with a speed up to150Mbps and connects you to the internet world on the go. TEW-655BR3G lets you create a wireless hotspot using either 3G or 4G networks. There are few advantages over the MiFi, the TEW-655BR3G will not have internal WWAN connection of its own, and rather it relies on a USB modem from a 3G/4G Internet service provider such as SprintTM, AT&TTM, or VerizonTM. The wireless router supports WiFi 802.11n rather than just b/g, which would decrease the time to transfer files between the connected devices. Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) integrates other WPS supported clients at the touch of a button.
More importantly, there is no software installation required, just connect the modem and start sharing the device with multiple Wi-Fi clients. But the most disappointing thing to be noted here is while going to have it, the device included with a rechargeable or replaceable Li-Ion battery works for only 1.5hours to make use of the above mentioned luxury features for a limited amount of time. It seems that you need to spend more time to recharge the batteries after every 90 minutes.
You can replace the battery and carry the spares to continue the connectivity. TRENDnet wireless router, the TEW-655BR3G is scheduled to release in early April 2010, with a price tag of $99.99.
