Qualcomm announces support for Google Chrome OS

Google Chrome OS is added by the Qualcomm to their list of supported platforms, announces CEO Paul Jacobs at CES 2010. Qualcomm says that they would support the much hyped new Chrome OS which is in development process to run in cheap computers and netbooks. Jacobs rejects the rumor that there would release a Snapdragon-based Chrome OS smartbook.
Qualcomm plans two new Snapdragon chipsets due to release in 2010, which include a 1.3 GHz Snapdragon 8X50A and the dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon 8X72. The company also says that there are 15 companies currently developing over 40 products based on their Snapdragon processor which is targeted to deploy in mobile devices and low cost computing machines.

Not surprised as Google has enough “cloud”.
Having had a snoop what others are doing – the most interesting ‘dark horse’ is clearly the “Netbook Pack” from whytwitter. It seems they will have the ‘upgrade market’ under control before Chrome OS is launched late 2010.
Personally, I think these guys are ahead of the rest of the pack. Which reminds me… That was how Google started!
