Intel to launch mobile Core i5 and Core i3 processors on 7th January,2010 at CES

Intel has set to launch its brand new products Core i3 and Core i5 processors at the Consumer Electronics Show which will be held in January 7-10, 2010 and in total they have scheduled to launch 17 new processors, 3 chipsets, several wireless components, 27 new products, according to Stephen Smith, vice president and director of PC clients and enabling. Additionally, they will announce the winners of almost 400 designs.
Both the chips contain HT (Hyper Threading) technology, but the Core i5 is included with turbo boost to control the thermal overhead or to cool the CPU. The “Arrandale” and “Clarkdale” chips drive a special attention of viewers, which packs the CPU as well as Intel Graphics within the same package. The Core i3 chips lag the automatic over-clocking, which will be available only on processors from the Core i5 and i7 lines.

The new Core i5 is a quad-core, while both the new Core i3 and mobile Core i5 are dual-core — and its first time for Intel, both of the new chips have an integrated GPU core that’s being branded as “Intel HD Graphics.” The new GPU is supposedly good enough for “high-end” HTPC use, but manufacturers can add switchable discrete GPUs. The new graphics capabilities can decode two HD streams in hardware. The accompanying “GMCH” chipset can also decode Dolby True HD and DTS-HD sounds, including support for the 7.1 surround sound found in Blu-ray discs.
This is a good sign for all the laptop manufactures as well as for the laptop users. Intel chief executive Paul Otellini is scheduled to give a keynote at CES on Jan 7. Click here to visit CES web site.
