Cypress Intros West Bridge Turbo-MTP 2.0 Module for faster data transfers

You would often feel frustrated when a full 1GB movie takes much long time to transfer to a portable device, but with the Turbo-MTP 2.0 module fastest sideloading solution you can transfer in just 45 seconds which is 10 times faster than the traditional MTP implementations. Now Cypress Semiconductor introduces their recent version of West Bridge peripheral controller that offers you transfer the multimedia files faster within seconds from your PC with the help of MTP transfer protocol, a USB-based protocol widely used in Rhapsody, Napster, Verizon V CAST and other online video and music services. MTP is supported in Windows Media Player (WMP) and enables direct, drag-and-drop synchronization between WMP and a handheld.
“Our Turbo-MTP 2.0 solution has turbo-charged sideloading for MTP handhelds, with internal tests reaching speeds close to 30 Megabytes per second,” said Alakesh Chetia, Vice President of the USB Business Unit at Cypress. Turbo-MTP 2.0 is included with drivers for the Google’s Android OS which is widely popular in top-tier multimedia handhelds in the recent times and is compatible with the wide range of handsets shipping in the market. The users can even make calls or watch videos with the Cypress MTP when it is connected to a PC rather just looking at the routine PC connect screen. From when the usage of this module will be equipped in the devices is not revealed yet.
