Aptina announces the launch of 14MP MT9F001 camera image sensor

Aptina has currently launched its new high-resolution CMOS image sensor device with 14 megapixel resolution named, the MT9F001. Aptina is one of the manufacturers widely known for its image sensors support for devices together with cameras and camera phones. The MT9F001 assures high resolution, high speed snapshot and HD video modes and supple interface and pre-processing alternatives.

The most highly developed 1.4-micron pixel uses A-Pix technology which helps in collecting the light in each pixel and is integrated with a four-lane High Speed Serial Pixel Interface. The sensor employs full 1080p video recording at 60 fps and also gets a hold in EIS (electronic image stabilization). It offers increased performance combined with a smaller pixel.

BSI-equivalent sensitivity is achieved with less crosstalk for lower noise and more accurate color reproduction. Aptina is evidently paying attention on nonstop upgrading to gather the severe demands of the user digital camera market. The MT9F001 will be accessible in the first quarter of 2010.
