Apple stood as World’s Most Profitable Handset Vendor in Q3 2009

As an old saying, “An Apple a day, keeps you doctor way”, likewise “An Apple iPhone with you, keeps your contacts closer and makes you feel so near to your kith and kin”. Apple beat all its competitors and stood on top in the mobile handset industry for Q3 2009, according to the reports revealed from Strategy Analytics. Apple operating profits are stated as $1.6 billion for Q3 2009, where as one of its strongest contender, Nokia stood second in the race with $1.1 billion in operating profits.
Alex Spektor, Analyst at Strategy Analytics, said, “With strong volumes, high wholesale prices and tight cost controls, the PC vendor has successfully broken into the mobile phone market in just two years.” Strategy Analytics believes that, “a successful fight on Apple’s high-profit home turf can simultaneously help to revitalize Nokia’s margins and to put a check on Apple’s surging growth.”
What is surprise to every one here is that, what Nokia couldn’t do with all its products in the market is being done by the Apple with its single product.
