nov 016 Samsung prefers Android instead of Windows Mobile

In the recent times we have seen that most of the Smartphones set to launch in the first quarter of 2010 from biggies like Sony Ericsson, LG and Saygus have chosen Google’s open source Android as their internal operating system. Is that a sign that Android is gaining control over the Windows Mobile which has been used to run in the Smartphones since long time? May be, it is true as Samsung too would like to run Android OS instead of Windows Mobile in most of its future handsets.

Samsung is planning to launch a Linux-based OS named as “Bada” which is known as “Ocean” in Korea will be completely an open platform and specifically designed to allow developers to create mobile applications for millions of Samsung handsets. According to analyst Greg Noh from HMC Investment Securities Samsung is going to use Android OS and let the Windows Mobile usage drop to 50% from 80% in 2010 and it may still decrease to 20% by 2012. The others might too follow to use the Android in their future handsets.

Let’s see how Microsoft reacts and the measures it takes to gain control over the Google’s Android.
