Nokia recalls 14 million AC-3E, AC-3U and AC-4U mobile phone chargers for free replacement

Nokia Corporation, widely known for its mobile devices with a most popular tagline, “Connecting People” which has its customers all round the world, issued a free replacement on 14 million chargers as three of the models manufactured by a third party subcontractor BYD were found faulty and hazardous.
The chargers to be replaced in the models AC-3E and AC-3U, manufactured between June 15, 2009 and August 9, 2009; whereas the AC-4U model is prepared between the period April 13, 2009 and October 25, 2009 are said to be faulty and not advisable to use any more, because of its loose cover the charger’s internal components may get exposed at any time leading to a potentially electrical shock hazard. The AC-3E model based devices are circulated in Europe, while the AC-3U and AC-4U phones have been sold in the North and Latin American markets.
It’s a good move by the Nokia to replace the faulty chargers to prevent any such incidents to happen in future, and Nokia confirms that there are no reports registered on injuries. If your charger falls under any of the above models, stop the usage of charger without taking any risk and approach your nearest Nokia store to replace it for free.
