ASUS delays Eee PC 1201N Smartbook launch to Q2 2010?

ASUS is set to expand its Eee PC notebook lineup with new ultraportable device. The netbook Eee PC 1201N with NVIDIA Ion graphic system will be arriving in UK stores by December. This would be ASUS’s first system using Ion and would have a home theater focus as its HDMI video output would play HD video at full speed on an external TV.

Complete features have not been confirmed but Windows 7 will be making its foremost appearance on an Eee PC which will be run by the ASUS’s netbook. It has 3GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive space and it is powered by an Intel Atom 330 1.6 GHz processor. It also comes with both WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity and a 6-cell battery giving you a runtime of 8hrs use. The price of the Eee PC 1201N would be little lesser compared to its present price tag of $756.

The Smartbook, on the other hand, rumored to be running on a Qualcomm SnapDragon will have a screen sized between 5 and 7-inches. It may be powered by the ARM instead of the Atom processor and it might run on the Android Operating System. Rumor is that  the device is set to launch in Q1 2010 with a price tag in the area of $180, but for indefinite reasons it is not expected until Q2 2010 and won’t be releasing in the US or UK as it’s targeted to launch in the Asia-Pacific markets.
