Apple does not have any Atom machines in its own line- up. Seeing its different notebooks right from mid- to high-end range, it has seen much of the success. According to the rumors coming in, OS X 10.6.2 will obstruct the Atom processor and will hinder many ‘Hackintosh’ netbooks that might be a shift as a strike in opposition to individual clients using the software on non-official machines.

There are processor types specified in OS X and that have to be worked around now for those who want to use an Atom or similar non-Apple-adopted processor. The Hackintosh users acquire more reasonable machines and then set up Snow Leopard, receiving a Mac or OS X multi-boot machine without the exclusive price tags like Apple’s. Apple is preparing to let loose the new OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.2), trying to eradicate a rising segment of Hackintosh community. Apple has always specified that the license was applicable only to Apple hardware as to its dismay some companies are selling a software hack to trick Apple’s Snow Leopard OS into being easily installed on PCs.
There may be a possibility now that Apple will bring to an end its support for the Intel Atom processor with its OS X 10.6.2 and 10.5.9 updates. The latest suggestion to Hackintosh users is to stick with OS X 10.6.1 and not install the update, and wait for the developer to pull Atom-blocking out of upcoming versions of the OS.

Apple did not come out yet to comment on the wide-spread rumors.
