Nokia and Qualcomm working on new Symbian phone for AT&T

Nokia known to be the number one in martphone and mobile phone maker in the world is going to design a most up-to-date smartphone – Symbian powered handset for the AT&T carrier, as per the VentureBeat report. This phone will be based on Snapdragon-maker Qualcomm chipset. Usually Qualcomm does not make any chips to support GSM networks, but this would be their foremost expedition into this field.
The particulars of the smartphone are not yet known but there is a prospect that the 1GHz Snapdragon chip has been viewing up in different forms and could offer a similar performance to HTC’s to HD2 or Toshiba’s TG01. However, it’s also likely that the AT&T device could be a mid-tier handset, intriguing benefit of Symbian’s operating system.

Nokia is also in arrangement to launch a US adaptation of the N900; the Maemo 5 smartphone announced back at Nokia World in September will also have Symbian running in it. The company hopes to twofold its advertising share in the US over the path of the next twelve months. Nokia, which is very anxious to increase its presence in the U.S where it currently holds only a 5% market share, that’s nowhere close to its 38% market share globally would do its best in manufacturing a better quality phone.
