We believe in the electronic products produced by the companies and we pay price to feel and experience them. But in the recent times, we have seen that batteries used in some of the electronic products like notebooks, cell phones are faulty and even burst out sometimes. Sometime back we did even notice that a large group of notebooks are recalled for having defective batteries that caught fire. Coby Electronics has registered with ten reports about batteries overheating which resulted in getting fire and damage of the property. Thanks to God that no one was injured in the cases registered so far.

Now Coby Electronics and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has come up with an action plan to make a recall on all the 20,000 rechargeable batteries sold out via a 8.5-inch resolution screen Coby DVD/CD/MP3 portable players with screen model number TF-DVD-8501 and serial numbers starting with “HY” which can be observed on a white sticker on the battery. Coby is in a move to find out batteries which were sold through online and retail stores since January 2007 to September 2009 and replace them with new one. Coby suggests the users of the DVD players with above coded model and serial numbers to remove the battery immediately without taking any risks by playing them and call Coby at 877-305-2629 for a free replacement.
