RIM BlackBerry Bold 9700 to hit stands this November
RIM has officially confirmed the release date of their latest smartphone, BlackBerry Bold 9700 aka “Onyx”. BlackBerry Bold 9700 will be available on various networks and stores in US and Europe this holiday season in November.
BlackBerry Bold 9700 will be successor of BlackBerry Bold 9000 with increased specs and a more compact design. BlackBerry Bold 9700 will be the second phone from the company after Storm2 to feature BlackBerry OS 5.0. The other specs includes 480×360 2.44-inch HVGA display screen, a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, an optical trackpad, a 624MHz processor, 256MB of flash memory, supports microSD cards upto 32GB, A-GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi and supports Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE. The 1500 mAh battery gives a power backup of 6hours talktime and 17days standby time. This will be company’s first smartphone to support both 3G connectivity and voice calls over Wi-Fi.
T-Mobile USA and AT&T will be selling the Bold 9700 for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in-rebate on a two year contract. Bell and Telus has also announced their plans to sell Bold 970 on their networks but they are yet to come out with their pricing.
