Verizon Motorola Droid – the Android device

With the commence of the Motorola Droid tipped on October 30th, the hand-set has come out as a surprise. It has got such an impression that they are calling the Droid “the fastest Android device ever used”. It is actually the Google Android-powered Motorola Sholes. The Droid is supposedly a three-way attempt between Verizon, Motorola, and Google.
The gadget is very thin and fast; comes with a TI OMAP3430 chipset, an utilizable QWERTY keyboard with rubber finish, a well-built slide and an exterior vaguely thicker than an iPhone 3GS.
The specifications include 5-megapixel camera with flash, 3.7-inch capacitive display (854 by 480 pixels resolution), autofocus and video recorder, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack and an Android 2.0 operating system aka “Éclair”. Additionally it is added with a microSDHC slot at ease with up to 16GB cards (and with an 8GB card tipped to be in the box), plus 512MB of internal storage and 256MB of RAM. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 and USB, as well as EVDO Rev.A.

The supposed launch date of this gadget is not yet definite but with the coming varieties of smartphones, it better gets noticed.
