There is a strong belief in the people that Apple Mac OS is safe and secure from viruses and free of problems. But, it seems to be targeted by viruses and Trojans too now. If you are going to install the Apple Mac OS, make sure that you did not log into guest account. Surprised! Yes, according to reports coming into Apple’s discussion boards, the newest version of Mac OS called Snow Leopard 10.6 is randomly deleting user data from their home folders. There is an issue with its “Guest” account login feature that when the users log into their guest account they end up with losing all their files.

As per Boy Genius Report the data is safe only in the external media for those who have taken recent backups. Apple is yet to officially acknowledge this issue of deleting the user data automatically.

One poster on the forums going by tcnsdca wrote, “I had something very similar happen. I had the guest account enabled on my MBP – I accidentally clicked on that when I went to log in. It took a few minutes to log in then after I had logged out of that account and back into mine my home directory. To my surprise all of doc, music, etc had been wiped.”
