HTC Hero HTC Hero firmware upgrade goes live on UK site

HTC has released a new update Hero firmware 2.73.405.5 ROM available for users to download over in HTC’s Nordic regions (such as Sweden, Denmark and Norway) to overcome the slight lag which they observed in their release handsets and stay ahead over iPhone. The update will take 10 minutes to install and boosts up the several functions. It makes Android OS faster added with a touch to focus feature to its Hero’s 5-megapixel Camera.

Downside to the above update is that if you get it directly from HTC you will lose any tweaks made by your specific carrier and most disappointing for Linux/Mac users is that it only works on Windows PCs.

Though its release date is not specified yet, HTC has confirmed to TechRadar that the UK version will be coming in the near future. Will get back to you with the updated info from the HTC UK website as soon as it goes live.
