CTL intros 10.1-inch 2go Classmate PC E10 netbook for kids

CTL has unveiled its new 10.1-inch 2go Classmate PC E10 netbook powered with 1024×600 resolution, an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, 1GB RAM with an upgrade option up to 2GB along with 160 GB of storage replacing its previous netbook, a smaller 8.9-inch screen with 30GB of storage. The 2go Classmate mainly targeted the school kids in K-8 grade. The new netbook is preloaded with Windows XP Home or Ubuntu Linux and can feel the Windows 7 too once it is released into the market in October.

The thick skin water resistant netbook is featured with a 90% full size keyboard supported with Wireless connectivity, integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam . The 6-cell battery for power can run up to 5.5 hours per charge. Apart from the above, the machine is preloaded with Intel’s Blue Dolphin program launcher, an eBook and PDF readers, along with a webcam program, Microsoft Works and a PowerPoint viewer software.

The 10.1-inch 2go Classmate PC E10 netbook specially designed for schoolchildren is available at $449 with schools getting about a $100 discount.
