Asus to disclose brand new slim notebooks with Intel 45nm CPUs
Asustek Computer is one of the first laptops to unveil two new ultra-thin notebooks power-driven by the Intel’s new CULV 45nanometer Celeron 743 and SU2300 CPUs on September 7th according to the sources. There has been a boom in the sales of the netbook computers compared to the other segments of the computer market even when the recession period has not yet passed away. The netbooks have curved out to be very trendy with the upward countries regardless of decelerate in purchase of some ultra-thin and ultra-portable notebooks.
When compared to the Atom chips in other notebooks which uses not more than 2.5 watts of power but have slower frontside bus, only 512K of cache and costlier too, the 45nm Celeron 743 uses up to 10 watts of power, has a 1.2GHz clock speed with 1MB of L2 cache, and 800MHz frontside bus, while the ultra-low voltage SU2300 will attribute the same specifications but uses only 5 watts of power. The ultra-thin notebooks will so happen to be the new segment between the netbooks and entry level but thick-heavy laptops. Acer and MSI are likely to also publicize new products built off of the Intel chips, so with anticipation we’ll see competition heating up in the segment this holiday season.

The models will initially distribute to Taiwan, China, and Europe, and are to be priced at US$107 for the Celeron 743 and US$134 for the SU2300 in thousand unit quantities respectively.
