Addonics Unveils new eSATA/USB Portable Blu-ray and DVD/RW Drives

Addonics has unveiled a lightweight Pocket Blu-ray/DVD RW, a portable Blu-ray player supported with USB 2.0 interface can be connected to netbook or desktop computer irrespective of the operating systems it runs.

The company claims that they are the first to release the external drives which features both eSATA and USB interfaces. The eSATA port can transfer data with a speed up to 3Gbits/sec for the DVD recording and to play the Blu-ray and DVD movies with the ability to record up to 8.5GB of data or 4 hours of video on compatible DVD+R DL (dual layer) and DVD-R DL(dual layer) media . You can opt for either a plastic enclosure or a rugged anodized aluminum casing and gets the needed power directly from the USB port.

The price of the Blu-ray model starts at #235 and if you don’t want this, the company offers you Pocket eSATA/USB DVD-RW at $99 along with bundled software.
