Hitachi pack new HDTVs with 500GB hard-drive

Have you ever heard of a TV provided with a storage capacity, here comes Hitachi with such a requirement. Hitachi announces five brand new HDTVs, each provided with a 500GB hard-drive for local storage of recorded programming or downloaded content. These five new HDTVs are lined to their Wooo series, which include three plasma TVs and two LCDs. The three plasmas are 42-inches, 46-inches and 50-inches., and the LCDs are 37-inches and 42-inches.
All the five HDTVs support Full HD 1080p, DLNA media streaming, and have an i-VDRS slot. This is also programmed with an automatic brightness control and allows the users to store up to 400hrs of HD content onto the internal drive provided. The plasma models are designed to boast up to a contrast ratio of 40,000:1.
The three plasma 42-inch, 46-inch and 50-inch are priced at $3,000, $3,500 and $4,000 respectively. The two LCDs 37-inch and 42-inch versions are priced at $2,500 and $3,000. Hitachi is planning to make the plasma models available in Japan by September 10th whereas the LCDs are scheduled to be made available in the month of October and about the sales in the other countries are not yet known.
