Optoma announced $999 HD20 1080p Projector

Optoma has announced their 1080p resolution HD20 home theater projector which can project the screen size image more than 120 inches to compete with the Vivitek’s H1080FD which is available for $999. The HD20 is a light weight device and can be carried anywhere with ease. It features a 1,700 ANSI lumens of brightness, dual HDMI ports, a VGA port, sports a contrast ratio of 4000:1 and a DLP engine operated without filters keeps maintenance costs low.

The life of projection lamp in standard mode is 4000 hours whereas in bright mode it is 3000 hours. Additionally, the HD20 comes with a rapid shutdown feature which reduces ownership costs.

The HD20 home theater projector comes with a one-year warranty and the release date is not revealed yet, but the device can be brought to home at $999.
