Sky to launch 3D TV Channel for Sky+HD customers in 2010
Viewers get ready to experience the 3D movies on TV right from your home with your family and friends.Sky, the Europe’s most successful HD service which broadcasts 3D services and provides 33 HD channels from leading brands has got success in attracting more number of customers, reportedly 1.313 million following record growth to choose Sky+HD. Sky today announced that it’s going to release the Europe’s first 3D TV channel in 2010 to the subscribers which will be broadcast across Sky’s HD infrastructure through their Sky+HD DVR box. The new channel offers movies, entertainment and sport to its customers. To experience the 3D service the customers must possess a ‘3D Ready’ TV which is expected to be released in the next year.

For viewers unconvinced by 3D technology, Sky offers its customers pull video-on-demand service next year to complement Sky+ and the current Sky Anytime push VOD service which makes use of broadband capability of Sky+HD boxes.Customers of Sky are awaiting for the launch date of Sky 3D and they are not known for how much they can get the 3D service and the cost of “3D Ready” TV’s on which the 3D service is viewed. Prices of Sky’s pull VOD and 3DTV services will be announced closer to its launch.
