Intel’s Core i7 Nehalem ‘Clarksfield’ Processors for laptops launching in September
If the current rumors are to be true, then Intel’s Laptop-based Core i7 Nehalem processors under codename ”Clarksfield” are ready to make their entry into the market as early as the end of September or early October. They will be releasing three versions of processors: 2GHz Core 2 Extreme XE, 1.73GHz Core 2 Quad P2, and a 1.6GHz Core 2 Quad P1.
This info was leaked from the manufacturing plant of Taiwan’s MoBo who are going to use these Intel’s Core i7 ‘Clarksfield’ CPUs in their upcoming netbooks. There are reports that these processors consumes large amount of power with power consumption may start as high as 45W. The clocking rate of these processors are significantly lower than the existing Quad Core processors.
There is another rumor that upgrades of Celeron SU2300 and Celeron 743 CPUs ultra-thin laptops will be available at the same time during September. It looks like Intel is have huge lineup of CPUs at hand as they may also announce desktop-based Lynnfield CPUs and P55 chipsets along with three Xeon W5500-series processors, five X3400 series Xeons, one low-power L-series Xeon during September 8 to September 11.
