116 Will Acer launch dual OS netbook in August?

If Chinese language newspaper, Apple Daily report is correct then it seems that Acer may launch their dual-OS netbook in August that has been already announced by Acer at Computex in June. DigiTimes reported on Monday, that Acer’s dual OS netbook is due sometime in August. It will come with both Windows XP as well as Android too that allows user the booting option into either operating system. The netbook are expected to be assembled with Compal and Quanta.

Asus and MSI are also planning to Android netbooks but they intimated, they will release them after 2009 so Acer’s Dual-OS netbook might be first Android based netbook in the market. Still it’s specs and pricing are unknown but it is likely to be higher than normal Windows based netbook after all Acer still needs to pay license fee for the Microsoft operating system. More details will be given as upon availability.
