BlackBerry Storm 2 to be shipped as BlackBerry 9550?

Boy Genius Report has got some latest info on RIM’s BlackBerry Storm 2. According to them BlackBerry Storm 2 will be shipped with the number as BlackBerry 9550 later this year on Verizon Wireless, while Vodafone will be launching the 9520, a version of the Storm 2 for GSM carriers AT&T and Rogers Wireless. Neither RIM, Verizon or Vodafone has confirmed these reports so as of now we should think RIM will release the phone as BlackBerry Storm 2 only.

BlackBerry Storm 2 features 360×480 resolution captive touchscreen display, 3.2-megapixel camera, OS 5.0, Wi-Fi, CDMA 1xRTT/EVDO Rev. A, Quad-band GSM/EDGE and Single-band UMTS/HSDPA (2100MHz only) for roaming.

According to BGR, the GSM based AT&T BlackBerry Storm 2 will be available relatively soon where as their is no info on when will the Verizon Storm 2 will be shipped.
