Google Chrome OS is in the making, Will be Open Source, fast, simple and more secured
After taking over the internet market, Google is now venturing into Operating Systems’ market. According to the Official Google Blog, Google are developing a new Chrome Operating System and will be initially targeted at the notebooks. Infact company is hoping to release it in second half of 2010. Good news is that it is Open Source so it will be available for free and we can see many good features from the Open Source Community apart from the features which Google will add.
According to Google, the new Google Chrome OS will be focused on Speed, simplicity and security. They are trying their best to make it as user friendly as possible just like their Chrome browser. They said it will be lightweight and fast. They are completely redesigning the OS security architecture so that it is free from viruses, malware and other security updates.
Google says, the new Chrome OS will be cloud based allowing Application developers to try their hand on the web itself. According to them it will support all web based applications and allow developers to code in popular web technologies. The new Os can be browsed not just from Chrome but also from other Windows, Linux and Mac browsers giving developers the largest user base of any platform.
The company said that Google Chrome OS will be very different from their Android OS. The main target of Chrome OS will be for people who spend most of their time on the web and is designed for notebooks to set top boxes to desktop systems while Android OS was developed for Mobile users.
Now we have to see what Microsoft and Apple will do to compete with Chrome OS.
