Land Rover SUVs are the toughest cars on the planet. Now Land Rover has decided to enter the cell phone market. They together with phone manufacturer Sonim are able to build a phone which they cal “World’s toughest phone”. What they said is indeed true. Their new phone S1 mobile has survived the elephant stampede, was run over by Land Rover itself, burried in the mud, soaked in beer, 300-degree Centigrade of oven heat and being fallen from a tall building. The only test in which it did not survive was being crushed by a three ton forklift truck. But still as a phone it is very strong.

The S1 features a 2 megapixel waterproof camera with built-in flash, 2GB memory slot, GPS, Bluetooth, Torch light, WAP services, FM radio,  up to 1,500 hours of battery life and an extra loud ringtone which you can hear even when its buried in mud.

S1 mobile was launched today by Tesco at a price tag of £249.99 ($408)with an unconditional three years warranty. It is also available on Orange at £25($40.81) a month on contract with the company.
