Dell to add GPS system in its Mini 10 netbook

Dell announced on Tuesday, that it will add GPS system and Wi-Fi positioning to its Inspiron Mini 10 netbooks from next week which is already hit the market by combining with mobile phones. Dell said, it offers location service enabled application for its Dell Mini 10 netbook family.
The Wireless 700 add-on will be combined both an internal GPS card from Broadcom and Wi-Fi triangulation technology from Skyhook Wireless which allow it to operate inside as well as outside too. Inside mapping are used to determine the location of respective address while outdoor mapping allows to see the view of respective line of sight.
This functionality is being added by CoPilot navigation software that provides users with turn by turn direction via 2D or 3D views. Skyhook application is already a standard feature on ten millions of Apple’s iPhones and iPod Touch devices.
The pricing details has not yet come but it will be added first in Mini 10 netbook series and expected to launch next week in US. Dell will also be working with Skyhook Wireless and Loki to provide some additional local information such as restaurant, popular land marks etc services.
