Microsoft reveals Windows 7 official pricing, pre-orders starting tomorrow
Microsoft has officially announced Windows 7 pricing and availability. Windows 7 will be available for sale starting October 22 and it comes cheap when compared to Vista.
Current Windows XP and Windows Vista users can upgrade to Windows 7 by paying $119.99 for Home Premium, $199.99 for Professional edition and $219.99 for the ultimate edition.
Those intending to buy complete disk will have to pay $199.99, $299.99, or $319.99 for Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate editions respectively.
There is some good news for people in US, Canada and Japan as Microsoft will start limited pre-orders for Windows 7 at a very less price starting tomorrow. Yes tomorrow June 26th. People taking pre-orders will get the Home Premium upgrade for $49.99 and the Professional upgrade for $99.99. The pre-orders are available only until July 11th but we think it will vanish very fast so hurry. Microsoft will start pre-orders in UK, France and Germany with almost similar price starting July 15th.
People buying new notebooks and desktops with Vista or XP on it from June 26th from participating manufacturers will get a cheap or free Windows 7 upgrade. In fact HP has already announced its Windows 7 Upgrade Program option where buyers will get a free Windows 7 upgrade if they buy desktops and notebooks starting tomorrow.
