119 Palm Pre exceeds 50,000 sales in its opening Weekend
Everybody is very eager to know that how many Palm Pre has been sold in the weekend and this number has not yet declared by Palm or Sprint but JPMorgan Chase & Co. in New York the analyst, Paul Cooster suggest that sales may be exceeded around 50,000 units. He added that

“We conclude that the launch of the Palm Pre has probably been successful. Sales in the first two days probably exceed 50,000, which aligns with our expectations, but sales are very probably short of the 146,000 reported for the first generation Apple iPhone, owing to capacity constraints in manufacturing (or imposed by PALM’s balance sheet). We believe the ’soft launch’ is probably proceeding to plan. To be reassured, we need to see Sprint channel inventory replenished this week.”

Flagship Sprint stores reported, they had up to 200 units while other locations figures is less according to feedback. The Touchstone charger and other accessories has got shortage in supply also. Most of the Sprint suppliers are unclear that when extra Pre units would be available and in what quantity to the market but some predicted that new units would be delivered this week.

Even Pre is available on Sprint for $69.99 a month with an initial outlay for the phone of $199.99. By the way demand will be depend totally on Apple who are supposed to announce a new iPhone at their WWDC 2009 today in San Francisco.
