Apple announced its new 17-inch Macbook pro at Macworld today. As claimed by Apple, the new MacBook is the thinnest notebook ever made with thickness of about 0.98 inches only and weighing just 6.6 pounds. The LED backlit display supports 1920×1200 pixel resolution. It has 2.66 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor,  4 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 Memory (can be extended upto 8GB DDR3), NVIDIA GeForce 9400M/9600GT graphics card, 320GB HDD with an optional 256 SSD Drive. It also features 60% greater color gamut, a 700:1 contrast ratio and improved viewing angles. It has also got support to add antiglare option for just $50.

It has got an excellent battery life. According to Apple’s Phil Schiller, it offers the longest battery life ever, with up to 8 hours of use on a single charge.

The new MacBook Pro is priced at $2799 and will ship in late January.
