Windows 7 to ship in 2009 Holiday Season
After so much hype about the new Windows Operating System, Windows 7, Microsoft have given indications
that Windows 7 will be available to public by Mid 2009 with pre-configured Windows 7 systems shipping in time for the 2009 holiday season. Microsoft has previously said the next generation Windows operating system would be available about three years after Windows Vista’s January 2007 release. But CNET reports that Microsoft Director, Doug Howe, that Windows 7 should be ready by as early as 2009 holidays.
According to CNET’s Ina Fried, who was present at the WinHEC presentation, Microsoft director Doug Howe showed a slide saying that the Vista Velocity program aimed to improve PC quality would continue through next spring and then continue on with Windows 7. In response to the launch date question, Howe told Fried, “Definitely the holiday focus is going to be on 7″.
Now we have to just wait and watch for an official confirmation from Microsoft regarding the launch of Windows 7.
