Plastic Logic To Unveil Flexible E-Newspaper
Today, Plastic Logic will preview its new electronic newspaper reader targeted to business customers. The most amazing part of this device is its thinness. The black and white, E Ink device features a wireless link to download content, space enough to store hundreds of pages of newspapers, books, and documents, and a display of about two and half times the screen of Amazon’s kindle.
The devices measures 8.5 x 11 inches, and is capable of browsing documents like Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Pdf files and it will fit the magazine page which was not available in other ebooks available in the market like Kindle, Jetbook and Sony’s E-book. As the device is not officially launched, we cannot give much details of the product like it functionality and price. The unnamed device will make it’s official launch in January 2009 at the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas.
The story says the device “uses a flexible, lightweight plastic, rather than glass, a technology first developed at Cambridge University in England. Plastic Logic, based in Mountain View, California, was spun off from that project.”
