Xbox 360 Gets Cheaper in Japan
Microsoft has slashed its game gadget Xbox 360 to $183. But one can get Xbox 360 at these prices only in Japan.
During the media event held on 1st September 2008 i.e Monday, Xbox Japan General Manager Takashi Sensui announced price cuts for the Xbox 360 in Japan starting September 11. After September 11, Xbox will be available at 19,800 yen ($183). With this price cut one can get Xbox 360 in much lower to its competitor Nintendo’s Wii which is currently priced at 25,000 yen ($230) in Japan.
A new Xbox model equipped with a 60GB drive will be priced at 29,000 yen ($275), replacing the current 20GB model which sold for 34,800 yen ($320). The Elite is getting a price reduction of almost $80, down to 39,800 yen ($367).
Microsoft promises to have these consoles in stores by September 11, just in time for the launch of Square Enix and Tri-Ace’s Infinite Undiscovery RPG, which comes out that day.
